Nutritional Counseling
Our Consultant Pharmacist, Gill Weise,SR.,R.Ph.,F.A.C.A. has daily consulting hours. Call us to make an appointment for an in store consultation or for a phone or email consultation if you are not in the area. The fee is $150.00 for one hour. Before you come, Gill asks that you do the following:
Write out a 7 day diary of everything you eat and drink, including snacks. Bring all your medications (Rx's), your OTC's like cough syrups, allergy pills, tylenol, etc. We will discuss an exercise program that is achieveable and will fit your needs. Be ready to discuss your major health issues and your personal goals.
Gill is a health and fitness teacher and practices what he preaches.This program woks and has been sucessful for diabetics, weight management, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) using Bioidentical Hormones, cholesterol, arthritis and pain management, just to name a few. Follow up appointments may be necessary but would most likely be to fine-tune and for a 15 to 30 minute period which would be $35 and $75 respectively. Health Testing
Hair Analysis $150
Hair Analysis is done to test for toxins and nutritional deficiencies. We have been doing Hair Analysis for 25 years at Weise Natural Food Products Shoppe. Gill Weise Sr. feels it is the only way to get a true picture of toxic and mineral content. The test involves cutting .25 Gms of hair from the back under side of you hair at a very special place where hair is the least contaminated from external sources. The hair is cut at the scalp and involves a golf ball size of hair. The test will give you the percent of many toxins such as, aluminum, tin, lead, mercury, bismuth, etc. and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium which are so very vital in our makeup. Then most importantly, there is ratio box which tells us if these items are in good ration in your body. We will call you when the test comes back so you can come in and pick up the results. You can also schedule a consultation with Gill to further discuss the test so that you understand the results and what you can do to improve your health.
Saliva Testing $120
We are dedicated to offering you the highest quality testing available for salivary hormones. Saliva which contains an enzyme, alpha amylase is the most accurate way to obtain your hormone levels. A cornerstone of bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) is monitoring of hormone levels in the body. Hormone levels should be checked at baseline (before treatment begins) and again after treatment has begun to make sure the theraphy is effective. Some hormones in the body are bound to proteins and are therefore inactive. Blood tests of hormone levels measure both the active and inactive hormones, and thus give an inaccurate picture because the inactive hormone cannot be used. Saliva testing measures levels of actual bioactive hormones only.
We continue to give quality information regarding your hormone levels because we average your hormones throughout the day. We furnish you with FDA approved collection tubes. Each patient should submit four saliva samples and each tube takes only 1-2 minutes to fill. The samples we recommend are to test Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, and Cortisol. Cortisol levels are very necessary to show your functional adrenal evaluation. Gill has seen that saliva testing in conjunction with your HRT regimen provides that bit of information that is so important in obtaining the proper hormone balance.
If you have had a hysterectomy for instance, your hormone levels in most cases need to be adjusted especially at a "menopause age". Progesterone provides your body with better bone density levels, and helps with water retention, weight gain and depression.
